FYL OP :( I think you're a very nice person for paying for your boyfriends lawyer, you didn't know he'd break up with you at the time, but yes you should have been more careful. Some people here are hypocrites though. He may have used you for money, but since you're a girl, everyone thinks you're stupid for using money for a guy, whereas if it was the other way round, no one would say anything, since guys should throw money around like nobody's business. I just say since you were in a relationship with the guy for one year, you probably trusted him, so it's nice, yet not surprising you gave him the money, and it shouldn't be surprising just because of your gender.

to everyone saying why would you date someone in jail, my friend was dating a guy for 4 years then he went to jail adn she didnt break up with him just cause he was in there. like thats so stupid? back to the fml, the girl didnt know he was guna break up with her? she probably really liked him and therefore payed for the lawyer which would get him out.
