Today, my boyfriend of 3 years announced that he is not ready for marriage, and won’t be for 'at least' another 2 years. Of course he waited to tell me this 2 days after he had proposed to me in front of hundreds of people, I said yes, and we announced it to all our family members and friends. FML

I agree with #13. If you've been with a guy for 2 years and he "loves" you enough to propose, then he loves you enough to mean it. You don't take something as serious as marriage/engagement back.

Honestly that does suck,but I think you should give him time to think about it.Marriage is a huge step,and guys(not all)have a tendency to feel trapped,like they are losing their freedom.So give him SOME time,but don't wait forever if marriage is something your into.Personally getting married doesn't matter to me!Love isn't about one day,it's all the days you make it work.

Wow does nobody on this site realized how serious marriage is? I know I would be very hesitant about going into a legally binding commitment with a 50% failure rate. No guy wants to have to go through the circus we call divorce court.
