Today, my boyfriend proposed to me. I said yes. This caused him to panic, excuse himself, then take it back via text message a half hour later, claiming he'd been drunk. We live together. When he comes back home, it's going to be very awkward indeed. FML

He was just in shock that you said yes and became his fiancé! Its a big step for couples! Once he gets more used to the idea he'll be ecstatic! :)

Crazy being the key word there... "Hey you wanna get married?LOLNOPEJKTTYL"

Just give him some time he'll probably do it again soon... Good Luck :)

I've heard of getting cold feet, but that's incredibly fast!

Guys are told through various forms that being married is the worst thing that could happen to their life. This doesn't help his subconscious need to procreate with any decent female that will have him. But when push comes to shove men can't help but love us and try to make us happy, and hopefully when he calms down and you start planning that special day he will look at you like my husband looked at me. Like you are the only girl that could love him despite his nerves and he is the only one that could love you. He'll come around he proposed for a reason.

I'm worried about the fact that you used "looked".

its understandable, while drunk I often propose to homeless people at the bus station. meaningless

That is ridiculous to even say. They're in a relationship living together. Not ******* drunk friends.

23 - Quick! If you hurry you might be able to catch the joke that just flew over your head.

23-head to your local department store and buy 100% cotton underwear. that should fix all that uncomfortable bunching and chafing.

@23: Can't blame a guy for trying to share his similar and completely legitimate life experience can you?

Was he asking in a joking way or serious??

One doesn't propose jokingly. That is being mean on a whole new level. It hurts the partner even if she/he doesn't show it. Not proposing at all is better than jokingly proposing.

He was drunk but sobered up a half hour later?! Maybe he just wasn't expecting you to say yes...

I'd try to be compassionate. Obviously, he's not ready to make the step. I'd be calm through this situation and really talk it out.

Wow that is a nightmare. You shouldn't marry him anytime soon. Imagine what he would do if you tell him you're pregnant. There's no taking that back.

Especially if sleeping pills are involved
