Today, my boyfriend told me to completely shave off all of my already-groomed pubic area because, "It looks so unnatural." Ignoring the obvious lack of logic, I asked him why he keeps his totally ungroomed. Turns out "Men having hair is okay. Women aren't supposed to, though." FML

It's sad how many men genuinely believe this. I've known guys in the past who truly thought women don't grow pubic hair, and that the ones who do have some sort of disorder or testosterone problem. :/ It's ok to have preferences. But you're a douchebag as soon as you tell a woman she is "unnatural" for having hair down there. And you're a double-douchebag if you want your girlfriend to groom herself, while you yourself don't.

To quote the great Stoya, "If you think pubic hair on a woman is unnatural or weird, you aren't mature enough to be touching vaginas."

It doesn't bother me that my fiancé doesn't shave, I on the other hand do shave. I guess it's whatever that person is comfortable with :)

to be fair, you also don't have to sleep with him, might as well if he acts like that

This is how my boyfriend thinks, too.

I trim, but I do like it when my girl has a clean area down there. She doesn't mind either way if I had a bush or none at all and for guys its a bigger pain because we have to move our junk around to make it easier to reach certain areas. You girls get a nice nearly flat area to work with. I have trouble getting it all so if I try to do more than trim sometimes I miss parts and she'll just laugh -.-

I like that your comment shows respect toward both sexes and their grooming habits- but I I must point out that it is in NO way easier for a female to shave down there. Trimming, sure- but not shaving. We may have a smooth area to shave from a front view, but the average female has a few folds to navigate around- as well as that nub that makes sex worth having. This means holding things flat to get a close shave, and one terrifying slip of a hand could cause flashbacks to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a partner nicknamed Mr. Nookieless for the duration of healing time. Your girl is awesome for catering to your preferences- I simply ask that you give credit where it's due :)

Well I stand corrected on the easier part then, if I had lady parts to shave I might've known that. Lol. It seemed easier to me since it only takes my girlfriend half the time it takes me, but then again she must just have more practice at it than me. I shave at times and I leave it at times. She is awesome I agree and whatever she wants is fine too, though like you said, I have my preferences.

make him shave if he wants you to. tell him that you will match whatever he cuts off. natural is just fine, but the hair blocks a lot of the sensation of touch, get rid of the hair and there is nothing that gets blocked, or pulled. its like clean sheets on freshly shaved legs ladies(most guys won't get this, but there isn't a male equivalent analogy, just shave you bastards, you'll see.) unfortunately if you shave all the time, that extra feeling becomes normal and you won't get the freshly shaved boost like when you started. so ladies, please shave occasionally, bare pie IS better than hair pie, but hair pie is still better than cake. guys, just shave, dont be such a pussy about it!

He sounds a bit self satisfied. That could be a red flag in the making. His ideas that 'men can get away with things whilst women cannot' is likely to apply to many larger, more important issues Tread lightly. You have a sexist bigot brewing.

I suppose you're somebody who thinks "real women have curves" too? No. Real women come in all shapes and sizes, they have different types of hair preferences (or situation, since cancer can cause women to lose hair in all areas), and generally do not fill any sort of "real woman" category. It's really unfair to make a sweeping statement, because some women cannot fulfill these statements, and they are every inch a real woman.

Well, normally, barring any disease or "condition", women do have hair down there and have to actively do something to get rid of it. The norms change constantly. First it was leg hair, then underarm hair, (not talking about mustache/chin hair), then vaginal hair. I'm curious when eyebrow hair and the hair on the head is next. I want my woman to sport the hairless mole-rat look (jk).

Misogynistic asswhipe. Just for that, grow all of your hair out. Equal rights, right?
