Today, my boyfriend took me out to meet his friends. It was going really well until I left to use the bathroom and two of the girls with us came in and started talking about how creepy Matt's new girlfriend is and that they're happy he's going to dump her. My boyfriend is Matt. FML

You could say that, except 1- These girls were "friends" of the Matt in this story, so they probably weren't just random girls talking about another random Matt's girlfriend, 2- They most likely knew she was in the bathroom too, since there's a good chance she would have announced that she was going to the restroom when she left the group. So this really doesn't sound like a case of "same name, wrong person." OP, I think they have something against you, if Matt is really hot, and they want to date him (or they did date him and were dumped) then that's reason enough for them to want him to dump you. Now maybe you are really creepy, but considering the circumstances I doubt that was the only reason they'd say that you were creepy when they knew you were within easy hearing range. Just ignore the bitches, tell your boyfriend about it (not in a "I hate your friends, they're all jerks" way, that might make your boyfriend mad at you instead of them) and move on.

The OP said that the girls were with her and her boyfriend--therefore, they are at least acquainted. It's fairly safe to say that they were talking about her, since they were with her and Matt. @the OP, girls are bitches. They might want to have Matt all to themselves, ignore it. If he does end up dumping you, then he is an asshole for taking you out to meet friends just to dump you. Usually if a guy is embarrassed of his girlfriend, he won't introduce her to his friends.
