Today, my boyfriend took me to get the abortion that we both agreed on. He was being so supportive through the whole thing. When it was all over I thanked him for coming. He replied, "Well that's what got us here in the first place!" He's still mad he can't tell anyone his joke. FML

I think many readers are missing the point of the FML. The problem is that the boyfriend wants to tell other people his joke which would let others know about the abortion itself. Though it's their decision to terminate the pregnancy, it can be a touchy subject that the OP might feel is no one else's business. Especially if word gets out to family or others that might feel a need to voice their opinion about what was done.

What a tough decision, but it's wonderful that you had great support. If you guys aren't using BC... I'd like to personally say I love my Skyla IUD. As a woman, I know how draining and hard it is to find the right birth control. If your BC options actually failed, I'm sorry and keep trying to find what works best. Best of luck!

He loved an supported you during a very difficult time (that I know of from experience.) Sometimes men just have to say a stupid joke to lighten a mood that had become really dark. He meant nothing by it, but I can understand your frustration. Thank him for his support. He is a keeper!
