FML you said for having to pull your kitty from the litter box .. Well FTKL as it has a weight problem that keeps it from getting out of the litter box. Shame on you for letting it get so heavy..

its better for the cat to be overweight then dying of starvation it show that the owners care that they can afford to take care of it and if having an over weight cat is abusing them than so is more then half of americas kids cause there all over weight too

Fat cats are not cute. Being fat is NOT a sign of being well cared for. Your cat will get diabetes, and it will need daily expensive care. A normal weight cat should only eat a half a cup of kibble a day. A cat thats already fat should eat even less. Cats have little stomachs. If its THAT fat, you should be ashamed.

It might not actually be entirely OP's fault; one of my cats is overweight (although not THAT overweight) and we've taken her to the vet's countless times over it. We don't feed her too much and she isn't a house cat, so the only conclusion we can come up with is that someone must be feeding her when she goes out since there aren't any problems (thyroid etc) that could be causing it. It's unfair to assume OP feeds it the wrong things and has caused it to be obese (although the mention of a litter tray does make me wonder since it's probably not getting the opportunity to be fed elsewhere).
