Today, I woke up to the rickety old ceiling fan above my bed crashing down on top of me. I'm fine, however I am now grounded until I can buy a new ceiling fan to replace the one I "broke". FML

Today, I was moving into my new house. While trying to turn on the light in the bedroom, I realized I couldn't reach the string on the fan. I got a chair, climbed up, reached over, and fell badly. While writhing in agony on the floor, I looked over to see a light switch on the wall. FML

Today, after having a pretty rough day, I decided a nice, hot shower would be great. Ten minutes in, the shower head apparently couldn't take the water pressure anymore, and it flew off and hit me in the face. FML

Today, at work, I managed to hit myself in the face with a large sheet pan. The force made me back into a shelf, which knocked a box off the top, which hit me in the head and knocked me out-cold. I now have a fat lip, a sore head, and bruises all over from the fall. FML

Today, after vacuuming, I struggled to pull the nozzle attachment out. I yanked it too hard and it flew out, hitting me in the face and causing my head to jerk back into the wall behind me. My girlfriend had to drive me to the hospital for my concussion. FML

I said they deserved it because they didn't use common sense to not stand under a faulty fan, that had a high chance of falling on them. This could've easily been prevented if they used common sense

Okay. You are marked offically a dumb ass for standing under it. You obviously knew that something was wrong with it, it wasn't just shaking for no reason. So why in the heck would you stand underneath it? Like you could see what was wrong with it from the ground anyhow. My suggestion would have been to go get a ladder and get up there so you could actually examine it, and maybe do something about it. Not stand under it like an idiot. I don't know whether to vote "deserves it" for being so ignorant and standing under it like a complete da. Or "I agree" fyl, for not being born with enough sense to know what to do about the situation. At least you turned it off. Therfore, I guess I will not vote at all. This was completly pointless to put on here. You proved to the world how dumb you really are. Congrats. At least you did give us all a good laugh.

myssmandy, relax... wow. you don't need to make them feel so bad. I'm pretty sure anyone in their position would have been able to learn their lesson on their own after having a fan fall on their face, without you calling them an ignorant dumbass who wasn't born with enough common sense to understand the situation......

Even if the screws holding it up came loose, ceiling fans have 2-3 wires which would've stopped it from falling more than a few inches...which were obviously still attached or the fan couldn't have been shaking because it wouldn't have any power. Plus, why stand under a fan that's violently shaking?
