Today, my computer crashed and lost all of its data while I was making a back up. FML

That has got to be one of the worst feelings ever. Did you throw the monitor to the ground?

I love it when a profile picture matches a comment

Of course, that was sarcasm... I read on the Internet that computer viruses are a myth created by the government

Go on reddit and ask for help. Acronis The Image Home is a good software.

karmas a bitch. what have you done lately?

I'm betting the computer was starting to have issue and that's why you tried to back it up. Unfortunately many people don't think about backups until the computer is already having problems. Sucks OP, but once it happens once it won't happen again because you'll always backup now!

You are extremely right! My laptop was beginning to become slow and started to lag a lot so I thought the best idea would be to back it up then. I back up almost every month now, so I'm not worried anymore! :)

that sucks! try keeping any important documents/pictures/videos etc on Google docs since you can access them anywhere and its automatically saved .

by crashed u mean system is down? In that case no u didnt lost ur data it is still there.. go to a computer geek or a computer repair shop ask them to hook ur hard drive to ome of tjeir computers and copy what u want.. to their hard drive. next let them fix ur system.. mostly it is a missing file.. let them get it and if worked then delete the data just copied otherwise let them fix it and then copy ur data back. dont forget to delete the data at their computer if the hard disk is damaged ask them to fix it.. it can be fixed and at least u can retirve ur data ... Trust me we do this :) Good luck OP

Without punctuation, I read your comment as the name of a bad superhero. "Irony Man to the rescue!"

Do you mean, whatever backup software you're using destroyed your data (in that case, look for safer way of doing it in the future), or was it just an unfortunate coincidence (you almost saved your data, when a crash hit)?

Horrible luck...flash drives and external hard drives have saved me...try the same
