Today, my dad and I were shovelling snow off the roof. I told him I was going to jump off the roof. He told me to go ahead, so I did. He failed to tell me that the snow was packed and wouldn't break my fall. I now have an injured back. He didn't tell me because he didn't think I would actually do it. FML

even if the snow wasn't packed I doubt it would break your fall

Don't worry, Natural Selection! Next time she won't be that lucky!

Know how when you buy a new laptop or get something else expensive, you're so careful not to mess it up or drop it or spill anything on it because even though it could probably be fixed if you broke it, it would be a freaking headache to fix it, and it would probably never work the same again, and the "newness" would be officially gone? Try to go with the metaphor, here, OP. :)

Why would you jump off a roof in the first place? And do you not look down before you jump, seeing that the snow wasn't packed enough? YDI.
