Today, my family and I went to a beach where you could swim with dolphins. I was a little scared to swim with them so the trainers had a 5 minute chat to me about how they were harmless creatures. Once I got in, the dolphin attacked me and bit me. FML

Nice. Dolphins enjoy a good joke like the rest of us.

Hah, my brother got bitten by a dolphin at SeaWorld.

Because captive dolphins are mistreated and bored so therefore act out

I don't believe this, dolphins don't just swim up and bite people, especially if there were others in the water before you. Unless of course you provoked it, then it's TOTALLY your fault

There has to be something you're not telling us because unless you did something to provoke them, they WON'T attack you. Dolphins aren't like, for every case of a dolphin 'attacking' a human there's about 100 cases of them SAVING humans.

#59 - False. There is no accurate database of deaths caused by dolphins, such as there is for sharks. They are less publicized, one could assume because they are less common, but I do not know that for sure. Both species have been known to attack humans, though there is little information on any unprovoked attack. Large sharks might mistake a human for a meal. Dolphins, preferring smaller prey, will attack if they feel territorial or threatened. The problem is that humans perceive them as tame, friendly creatures, and approach them as such. When dolphins do attack, it will be by colliding with someone, ramming and pushing them away from shore. If a dolphin bites you it will do little more than leave a bruise.

Dolphins have been known to attack with out reason, and even take part in infanticide. They have been known to attack with out need for food or defense.

Do you cook with propane? Dolphins are attracted to propane sexually, so if you use charcoal instead they'll kill you
