just stfu. saying you're an "emo" like its an ethnic group or some sort... please. just get some help if you need to. Jesus.
Alright, first of all, I never said OP was Emo, I never said the accusation was correct, I said I was, specifically, talking to the people who were pretending to have depression when they clearly live fairly reasonable, uninhabited lives. Yes, I do realise there are plenty of teenagers out there who don't have great lives, I was one of those myself, but I never wore it on my sleeve so people would feel sympathy for me, that's not going to help anyone. Yes, I also realise that there are instances where it's not a matter of life quality, but due to chemical imbalance, also, not the case for 90% of the teenagers acting that way. So, just to be clear on this... I'm talking about Emo's and attention seeking, falsely diagnosed teenagers, SEPERATELY. As for 133#, I'm sorry to hear that, but I wasn't implying that situations like yours, and that of Emos were anything a like. I realise it's just a trend, my point about Emo's was more to do with the lack of originality than anything. Trust me, I know a lot better than that. I've had a few very close friends in similar situations to yours. I hope things improve for you soon. As for #153, too bad. :D
If you are EMO, YDI!!!
Ok, my grandma called me "one of those emo kids" once just because I had on a black tshirt. So for those of you saying OP deserves it for being 'emo', consider the generation difference and therefore the resulting general difference in perception...
Oh my cod you are a freakin GENIUS!
seriously shut up all you stereotypical people! nothing is wrong with being emo, or goth, or even scene. we don't do it for attention, I LOVE how I look and I do it because it's me. try to grow up.
so you are going to try and change the way society looks at it? It's good that you're proud of your style, it's important to appreciate yourself and embrace it. But I can almost guarantee that society won't change the way it's looked at. It's all media, there's nothing you can do about it. The one thing people seem to not realize, is that the way the stereotypes have become, is one bad apple ruined it for the rest. People take this stuff too far, which is why it's looked at negatively.
Unfortunately #229, what you said is far from the truth. There isn't just one "bad apple". If someone chooses to be "goth" or "emo" or whatever the hell they want, without it being just to be "cool" but actually a style they like, that's just fine. Personally, I'll never understand it, but that's fine. But a lot of people, and I would go far as to say the MAJORITY of the people who act and look emo, goth, or anything else, ARE people who do it just because they think it makes them cool or any other stupid reason which isn't actually liking the style.
some ppl do feel that way but emo is cutting urself like a state of mind not how u look (like that one guy said) and scene rly is meant to attract attention with the colorful hair and stuff (not saying it isn't cool) and just cuz u wear black or wtvr u r NOT emo or scene (whats the difference with goths??) but the cutting urself is all for attention scene is... well debatable judging on ur motive for looking rly different from everyone else

actually I'm at the truth. You are far from the truth. Enough said.
well... it's all about personal choice and taking comments personally. You can only go so far being emo and being accepted at the same time, and the way you verbally and physically represent yourself. There weren't emos in your nan's day.... so what else did you expect her to say?
Ahahaha that's funny as, your Nan seems ace!!!
