Today, my fiancé proposed to me at the movies. The movie stopped in the middle, and my fiancé stands up, takes out a microphone and announces to the entire theatre that he loves me. Right when he went on one knee, someone shouts, "Turn the movie back on!", and throws a cup of coke at my head. FML

Well, it is kind of rude to interrupt the movie for other people. I know I would get made if the movie I pair for suddenly stopped in the middle so some guy I don't know could propose.

Who would even think of interrupting a movie to propose? Dumbest idea ever. Plus getting down on one knee in a movie theater? Ewwwwwwww. Those floors are nasty.

#243 - you completely missed the point. People don't pay to go to the movies only to have it interrupted... its not selfish wanting to get your money's worth, but it is for some random stranger to stop it so that he can propose in, quite possibly, the worst, most unromantic setting ever

of course it's celf-centered. If you propose at a restaurant, or some sort of sports event, people can do other things if they're not interested. Even if you think it's "sweet" or whatever, you can't expect _everyone_ to be interested, do you? some people don't give a shit. In the movies, it's a dark room full of strangers, there's NOTHING to do except watch the movie. You're forcing everyone to pay attention to you and your little problems. They can't do anything else, like keep eating their dinner, or continue their conversation with their friends (it's a movie, nobody was having a conversation). You are forcing yourself into the center of attention. It's the ******* definition of "self centered".

People who talk during movies are the most selfish, rude people ever. I think it's AWFUL that your fiance(?) would ruin other people's night like that!!!!

242- I love you. I can't believe how maybe of you think that an interruption that probably lasted less than five minutes RUINED ERRYONZ NITE LOL! Seriously, you only get proposed to once (hopefully). Any ****** can watch a movie multiple times.

It was a nice thought, but why the fudge would he do that? It's rude and annoying, be grateful nothing else was thrown at you. I understand the fact you get proposed to once, but he should have done it at a more appropriate place. Proposals like this and those at basketball games are bleh! Why would you feel the need to share feelings with the one you truly love with outsiders who don't give a crap? It's a moment between you two, not you two and the Star Trek people. On a side not your now husband should have done this in the middle of the Twilight movie xD That would have been interesting. I still gave you an FML though so don't worry. Lol #257! But I have to disagree, it would have been a true waste if it was Pepsi.

Coke-throwing is overkill. But holy jeez don't do that in a movie, wtf! Of course people will be pissed, that's crazy.

YDI for proposing @ a theatre, well the guy does c'mon a theatre?!

As another movie viewer, I would be annoyed too. But I wouldn't throw coke at someone, especially the one who is being proposed to - how was he/she supposed to know that was going to happen?
