Yeah it was an okay idea, he just assumed that people would be as overjoyed as he is... WRONG! Don't stop a movie in the middle, that's the most annoying thing ever, especially since it's probably the good part! There are always going to be angry, obnoxious people in a theater. Propose before or after. Right at the beginning of the credits when people are getting up to leave anyways maybe? The nice ones will probably stop and applause or give a nice "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww".
I think that's one of the best settings to be proposed to! I'm a film student, so that sounds amazing. I'm sorry it was ruined. :(
Look at all these morons . . . "BAWWWW, my night would be RUINED because a movie stopped for 30 goddamn seconds so a man could propose to his girlfriend!" Shut your mouths, idiots. It did not ruin the movie for anyone, it's just that people want to use any excuse these days to act like jerks. Maybe public proposals are a little tacky, but nothing is as bad as acting like that much of a ******* (the coke-thrower) in public.
Sounds pretty dumb. People honestly don't care, and definitely don't go to the movies to be interrupted.
YDI for falling for a prick like that.
hahaha....Brilliant!!
Kind of a bizarre location to decide is romantic. I mean unless you're an avid movie go-er or.... you know what, no. I can understand that... you know, you try to show the world you love a girl by doing it in a public place, but right in the middle of a movie screening seems like an entirely weird spot to do it. If you're going to go through the effort to make something like this happen, why not do it in a slightly more romantic setting rather than a crowded movie theater? Not denying the fact that a 3 minute wait to watch some guy propose to his girlfriend really doesn't require much effort for me to sit there and be quiet, but it's just a rude gesture to assume we should be fine with you interrupting our movie to show us this. The difference between this happening at a baseball game and this is they won't stop Derek Jeter mid throw to let this happen. It's between innings, and something you're fine seeing because it makes the time in between watching the game go faster. Here they pause the movie. But this was just a stupid move on your fiance's part, and I'm not surprised you had something thrown at you considering the setting, though you clearly didn't deserve it, but come on there's bound to be some outrage over it. Congrats on getting married, though, and I'll say FYL just on the basis that you were set up in a bad spot.
Props to your boyfriend for trying to make it romantic and different, but in the middle of a movie? He's got to have realized how many assholes there are out there in this world. Had the coke been thrown at my head, I'd have knocked the ******** out. It was a stupid idea to propose in the middle of a movie, but nobody has to sink that low to throw a cup of coke at your head.

Well, it is kind of rude to interrupt the movie for other people. I know I would get made if the movie I pair for suddenly stopped in the middle so some guy I don't know could propose.
Who would even think of interrupting a movie to propose? Dumbest idea ever. Plus getting down on one knee in a movie theater? Ewwwwwwww. Those floors are nasty.
