So what she can believe in what she wants Its. freedom of religion that doesn't mean she be s bad grandma
Right. Did you not read the FML at all, darling? Because she seems pretty psycho from where I'm standing. Not sure if you want a psycho taking care of your kids...
OP you sound like a b****... Scientology is very real, dont question it.
Asscrickets* Dear sir.
Watch out OP, when you give birth she's gonna try to feed you the placenta
I enjoy freedom in what I think. I'd be a Jainist if I could give up pets and meat (animal suffering). So I'm more Buddhist. And I've seen families broken up or trips go astray because of where everyone goes on Sunday. Tell your mother you will be in charge of the children's religious upbringing.
If? What is possibly keeping you from giving up pets and meat?
Considering that #1: Scientologists are not taught about Xenu and Incident II until at least OTIII rank, and #2: Xenu is not a "god" of Scientology (he's a bad guy, actually), and would have no business "getting unbelievers", I find this story kind of questionable. Unless his mom heard about Xenu through unofficial channels and came to the wrong conclusions. In Hubbard's writings, Xenu is a corrupt galactic overlord who brainwashed the "thetans" (souls, for lack of a better term) that would later come to occupy human bodies on Earth. It's pretty complicated, but some web searching can get you the more detailed story. Wikipedia's account is also pretty solid, if you'd rather get it all your craziness in one place.
How are her religious views any less important than, oh lets say, christianity? Its all made up anyway so why would it matter if she teaches your kids about xenu or god or whatever.
Because not only is it made up, it is also dangerous. More people have died because of one imaginary sky daddy or another then from anything else. Besides, religion or lack of religion is a personal choice to be made at an appropriate age, not one to be made for you by your parents, grandparents, or anyone else for that matter.
To OP, it seems more a matter of how pushy it is, not how its old its books are.
Being in Clearwater, I get to watch both the followers and protestors. One day I was driving home and a guy was holding a sign that said Scientology kills. He was wearing a purple hat and tights and a pink cape, looking like some kind of deformed Wario. He almost killed me, because I was laughing so hard I almost wrecked.
Chances are she won't even be able to keep in contact with you guys. You're going to be labeled as "Oppressive Persons" and she's going to have to disconnect from you.

People that believe in that are literally retarded. It's a scam. Apparently they keep people locked up in camps, Scientologists..
Today's religion is tomorrow's mythology.
