Today, my fiancée and I were selecting our wedding cake. The wedding is now off since I refused to buy her the "dream" wedding cake she wanted because it was chocolate. She called me childish and cheap. I'm highly allergic to chocolate. FML

what a crazy bitchhh... like i seriously don't understand why a lot of women get so worked up over weddings/prom/etc and having everything be just so, like I seriously couldn't give less of a ****. do they have nothing better to do their entire lives than plan their dream wedding and freak out if it isn't just the way they want it?

You are childish and cheap if you think you matter on your wedding day. It's about the bride and the groom is just an afterthought. Didja ever notice that the bride wears a beautiful, unique dress while all the bridemaids wear an ugly uniform, but the groom and the groomsmen all dress alike? That's so in case you don't show up, she'll just marry the next guy in line. You should have gotten her the cake she wants and then had a personal Twinkie at the cake-cutting.

It's sarcasm only by degree. While the groom is not totally insignificant in a wedding, he is certainly not equal to the bride on that day. Keep that in mind if you ever get married.

We decided we're just going to have a bunch of cakes, all different flavors. A couple will be gluten free since every female on his mother's side is allergic to wheat. That way everyone can have whatever damn flavor they want, and we don't pay $200 for a cake.

grooms cake is seperate from the bride's. the bride's cake is "the wedding cake", let her have it

I am taking it that you have never been to a wedding. the bride AND groom eat the wedding cake, it isn't just the bride's cake. The happy couple cut the cake and feed it to each other, or in most cases, they smash it in each others faces. Idiot. in the OP's case be glad you got it out of that relationship before it was too late, she sounds like a royal bitch. if she is freaking out over a stupid cake think about the stuff she'd bitch about in the future. Sounds like she is more interested in the wedding not the marriage.

Actually, quirkygirl90, when there is a grooms cake, the other cake is the brides cake. Just because the tradition isn't as popular as it once was, and you have never seen it, does not make it invalid.
