Today, my five-year-old told me she had accidentally swallowed a thumbtack. In panic mode we raced to the ER. With no insurance. Only after the tests, examinations and X-rays did she tell me was "just joking." FML

Get some ******* insurance for your kid at least

actions have consequences...... time for the 5 yr old to help pay off the debt you incurred. chores and a chart? PS. does your state not have a healthcare programme for children? the medical costs might be covered.

Usually if the child is under a certain age you can get medicaid style care from the state. They might even cover this as they can go back 3 months. I suggest explaining this is not acceptable.

Somebody's not going to leave the house until they're 40...

I would applaud the kid for being a better troll than myself

Easy budget fix: She loses dessert privileges until the money you save not giving her dessert covers the medical bills.

She might be in need of some tlc and some attention. If you don't bring your kids mistake up and all the drama it caused she is less likely to do it again. If u punish her she might do it and not tell you, just to get back. Child psychology!
