I think people are voting YDI because they think OP should have made sure no one would walk in on them. I think those people shouldn't assume there was a way to prevent this sort of thing from happening. And you're right, there's nothing wrong with making out.

Not that couples shouldn't make out but really? If you're young enough to live at home either be really careful or wait til you get somewhere private. I don't usually have a lot of sympathy for situations like this.
