Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. I started to tear up and told her I had something stuck in my eye. I was secretly thrilled as I had been trying to end it for weeks. Seeing me cry, she immediately took it back. I really just had something stuck in my eye. FML

You should have told her right then and there that the damage is done (no going back on her words). Unless the two of you want to continue being in a miserable relationship, the break up will bound to happen sooner or later. Better to end it now than drag it out and cause each other to suffer even more.

You can't bring yourself to be the one to end a relationship you don't want anymore and she's so uncertain of what she wants that she decides not to break up as soon as she thinks you're crying. Neither of you are invested in this relationship since you both want it to end and, more importantly, neither of you are displaying the emotional maturity needed for a successful one anyway. Break up, take some time to be single and discover yourself. Seriously.
