Today, my girlfriend of two years confessed that she'd gotten married. But not to worry: she only did it for "tax reasons." FML

Similar situation, one of my exes told me she shared her bank account with her ex and before me she got married to her neighbor through the military (she was in the military and he was 4yrs younger than her) to take advantage of the military benefits when you're married. Apparently she thought marriage was a business transaction. Breaking up was a relief. You prevented major problems, feel good about yourself.
