Today, my heating broke. It's 22 degrees outside, and my father won't let us call someone to fix it because apparently the cold helps the soul grow. FML

You think 22 degrees is cold !?!?! It's like -22 here ! Don't be a wimp ! :)

That's horrible! Why doesn't he get the heater fixed? If he wants some cold for his soul he can go outside instead of making hix entire family suffer.

22 degrees Ferinheight is not cold. It's like -8 here right now and guess what? My dad's house is so old that the heat doesn't work so well. So we just use a fireplace. Put on a sweater and stfu.

Thats a good way to freeze your pipes and cause a huge problem! Your father is a moron.

Leaving your house in freezing temperatures can cause pipes to break which can lead to even more serious damages.

Buy a space heater without your father seeing it. Pretend to get pissed off and stomp off to your room. Close the door, fire that sucker up, and relax in comfort. He'll have to pay for it when the electric bill comes due, but that's his problem, not yours.

does anyone have a tempurature converter? how much.is 22 degrees celcius in farenheit?cuz it's like 20 degrees farenheit here which, I know is colder thn 22 celcius cuz 0 celcius is=32 degrees farenheit

22 degrees Celsius = 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit Google is your friend.

OP was talking about Fahrenheit. 22 degrees Celcius is pretty much perfect room temperature.

Wha..? Weird dad. Also, Fahrenheit is stupid. 32 for freezing, 212 for boiling? **** that, 0-100 range, please.

FYI..in the US we do use celsius ( as well as the metric system) in school; all students learn both systems these days. So we know it. Neither one of them are really that complicated.

yea im a southerner, country boy and we do use both systems but i pretty much ignore metric cause i prefer SAE so for all u bashers out ther neither is better

It is about -10 to -20 here every night and I don't have any heat in my room. So yeah, I know it sucks.

Nietzsche said, "That which does not kill me makes me stronger." So, your soul will either grow or ascend to heaven. Read the Jack London story, "To Build a Fire." That'll help.

omfg! I love nietzsche AND Jack london!!!!! my teacher is making me read White Fang and I love it. and I have to write one page about Jack London's life :/ but hey. you my friend are cool.

K...it's pretty annoying how a bunch of people are complaining about it being colder than 22 degrees where they live. If you have heat on, you really can't compare. And OP, lol at your dad being a cheapass.
