Today, my husband and I were getting frisky. All was going well until I decided to go down on him, causing him to freak out, thinking I was going for his butt, ending the night with a black eye from being knee'd in the face. FML

OK this sounds like an awfully extreme reaction. It makes me wonder if hubby was abused as a child and may not remember it but still has the fears strongly instilled? Honestly? I'd start looking deeper into why he reacted that strongly and possibly seek counselling to find out if there is more behind it. (no pun intended).

Obviously the perfectly rational course of action was to strike out at her pre-emptively, instead of maybe asking her, "Hey, you're not going for my butt are you? I don't like that. Don't do it please." Obviously.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I don't understand why he thought she was going for his butt or had such an extreme reaction unless it's happened to him before. Or maybe he just overreacts, hard to know with just a FML.

#30, thank you for bringing up that possibility. OP, you should totally look into this. My first though was whether or not it was the first time that he "almost" experienced oral sex, but the possibility of this attempt bringing back a traumatic memory makes much more sense. It may take time for an answer to come up, so don't be pushy, but definitely not give up on that lead, either. I wish you both the best of luck. Be safe!!! :)
