Today, my husband and I were talking about names for our expectant child. I told him since I named our daughter he could name our son. He's decided on a name from 'God of War'. My son is going to be named after a make-believe cartoon character - Kratos. FML

Dumbass, Kratos is the Greek god of strength (and war). He's been around for a hell of a lot than that stupid game. And it's not that bad of a name.

Wikipedia it and you might not be so sad. :) The Greek word "κράτος", krátos, power, which forms the second compound in words like democracy(Demoskratos), aristocrat(Aristoskratos), etc. Its mythological personification was the god Kratos, a son of Pallas and Styx. Democracy is named after your son! In Greek mythology he's the personification of power and one of Zeus's enforcers. How is that a bad thing? (I kind of want to be called Kratos now.)

Chronos is the father of Zeus and Poseidon. Kratos or Cratus is a titan and the son of Pallas and Styx and is one of the winged enforcers of Zeus, along with his siblings, Nike, Bia and Zelus.
