Today, my instructor turned up late to get me for my driving test. I soon realized something was seriously wrong. Turned out his wife left him last night, and he'd been drinking the pain away all morning. He ended up rear-ending another car, and now I have to reschedule my test. FML

Today, while I was taking my driver's test, my instructor received a text message. He promptly had a panic attack and screamed for me to pull over. It turned out his wife wanted a divorce. The last 15 minutes of my test consisted of him sobbing to himself as I drove back to the DMV. FML

Today, I was nervous as hell for my driving test. The instructor told me to drive a straight line in reverse. I forgot to put the car in reverse from drive and drove straight into a parked vehicle. Which happened to be owned by the instructor. FML

Today, I had my first driving test. The instructor turned out to be the kind of twit who made me do the full 60-minute test, only to tell me afterwards that he was failing me for the only mistake I made less than 2 minutes after the test started. Time wasting tit. FML

Today, I went to take my driver's test, and I did almost everything perfectly. The last thing was to back into a driveway. As I went to put my hand on the passenger seat to look over my shoulder, I got so nervous that I hit my instructor in the face. FML

Today, I took my driver's test. I was confident and thought everything would go well. My boss ended up calling me several times during the test. Turns out my colleague never showed up to cover for me, and my boss blamed me. Not only did I fail my test, I'm now suspended from work too. FML

Why? The other guy obviously didn't care enough to reschedule himself, but instead got drunk and created a very dangerous situation for himself AND others. I have close to no compassion for people like that.

Everyone is defending the instructor, but drink driving is seriously irresponsible regardless of what happens. He's breaking up with his wife, yes, but that doesn't mean he can put other peoples lives at risk. OP pays the guy to teach him to drive, and turn up for his test. He could have cancelled any lessons he was taking, but he should still have taken OP to his test. All he had to do was pick him up, then OP drives to the test centre, instructor waits for OP to finish, takes him home, THEN deals with his problems. I took my driving test last year and you can spend days or weeks leading up to it feeling constant nerves at the pit of your stomach. OP pays the guy to do his job. Yes, sympathy for the instructor, but he went about it totally wrong. Had he not have been drink driving I might've defended him.
