Today, my mom finally believed me when I said I smelled mold. I lifted up the couch, and it was covered in mold. So were the bottoms of all our furniture, our beds, and my grandma's vintage chair. We've been living in mold for the past 4 months. FML

Why could you not lift/move the couch on your own to prove it?

Lol i love when people have fights in FML comments. Most times they are funnier than the FML itslelf! FYL for that though. I donLt understand how your whole damn house got MOLDY, but FYL indeed!

4 months of a mold infestation of that magnitude would result in the death of your grandmother and everyone eles in the home very ill

@64, I'm fairly certain not all molds are deadly, just smelly and gross, since some are food (bleu cheese), and others are vaccines. @OP, at least you got it figured out. You could have spent the rest of your life being "that crazy person who smells mold".

Well it clearly wasn't blue cheese. and the mold that you would find in your house from it being damp is actually really bad.

I'm a physicians assistant, dear. that means I had 7 years of college and a few credits shy of a phd. I know a little about mold ;)

Remind me never to go to you for sub-par medical services. You need a refresher course on molds before you get that supposed PhD. Two minutes of searching online will bring up countless studies on people who have been exposed to very high levels of mold that has been growing under carpets and in walls over the course of years. The most basic medical fact about mold exposure is that reactions vary according to tolerance and general health. One of my first hits was an actual doctor, not an FML poser, who relayed her experience with over a year of exposure to high levels of black mold. But good attempt. Dear.

Don't you love how once you correct patronizing idiots who try to to sound superior and put them in their place they stop responding? I don't know why the hell barraCUDA28 would say something so obviously untrue, then try to back it up by saying she has a general degree, which in no way implies a specialty in mold. You correct them with the truth and all the sudden the condescending responses stop. Good work olivejuice001!

OK people she is right. I'm sure she knows the DIFFERENT types of molds. and this post was CLEARLY talking about a certain kind of mold that IS actually very unhealthy. Yes there is penicillin which is basically a mold which is used as medicine and bleu cheese. But you have to remember what the post said.

OP is from the US. In the US it's spelled m-o-l-d. They spelled it just fine.

wow, hope you still have your health.. we bought a house and the sellers had lied so much about it and tried to fix patches of the walls that had gone soggy and moldy under the windows. my kids developed allergies and severe headaches and I was ill with flu-like symptoms for weeks before I realized what was going on and we ripped the walls down. My Dr couldn't even understand what was wrong with me and kept putting me on really expensive anti-biotics. we moved out, and we all got healthier. the house got torn down (the mold was really bad behind the walls, and there were some other issues) and we had to get rid of a lot of our stuff when we moved intothe house we built in it's place. We're suing the pants off them now. Mold is a very dangerous substance, you'll have to throw out most of your belongings, and even things like papwerwork and photos, as they will all be contaminated. good luck.

THERES A NEW THING ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE DOING NOWADAYS, DAM WHATS IT CALLED??? Oh yea CLEANING..........y'all should look into it
