Never had alcohol. Can't see the appeal of losing control. Sucks to you, OP, that your mother chose to ruin your celebration. Perhaps she is a contributing factor to your previous state. Honestly, in situations like this I have only one real solution: Move. Move far away. As far away as you can afford. Hell, sometimes it's only a few hours or the next state over that takes it. Move up to Wichita. It has the lowest CoL in the country, and it's probably too far for your mom to bother you.

Sometimes the best way can do is live by example and show others there's another way to live. Sorry to hear about your mom, but congrats on your 10 years, that's huge.
