Don't fool yourself -- you're not even good at the trombone (wah-wah-waaaaaaaaah, the sad trombone says mockingly.) 75 trombones led the big parade...
Apparently not
Theres now one less.
I'm sorry =( I'm a trombonist too.
Can you rent one from a music store?
Who the **** still plays a trombone? This isn't the classical age any more. There is little point learning any musical instrument unless its a guitar or bass.
Wrong. Classical music rules.
I ******* play trombone. And I'm damn good at it too. **** you and your non-talented ass. Music means everything to me and is my life.
#53: Wow, way to fail at life. You might want to go back to your lemming group, or you'll get late for your mass cliff-jumping. What kind of moron are you to think you have to limit yourself in such a pathetic way AND try to force that choice onto others?? You fail so badly that there's no words to describe how much of a loser your words make you sound like.
Number 53..... please kill yourself. :) Thanks. :) Brass instruments = Awesomeness.
hmm... odd. ops a girl and has a trombone??? (implied penis remark)
Lizi, it sounds like you are OP, yes? Well since you're all of 14, let me give you (and the other teenagers) some advice. Shut up and listen to your parents. They give you food, clothing, shelter, and love. Your ONLY jobs are to go to school and be a respectful child. You don't have to agree with how they raise you, but you have no choice, as you've learned the hard way. The best thing you can ever do in life is learn from your mistakes. I expect to get booed and thumbs-down all to hell, but disrespectful kids reap what they sow.
59: But why should OP's mom randomly sell her trombone that she had given her as a birthday present? Especially since she'd already taken away OP's ipod and other things, and it was just over a small argument? That's hardly fair. In OP's defence, it's not like she said that her mom was horrible, cruel, stupid, or that she now had nothing, her entire life was ruined, or anything over dramatic like that. She only said that her mom decided to sell her favourite possession, which happened to be the only thing she considered herself good at. Doesn't sound too disrespectful/ungrateful to me...
I agree ^. I understand the whole "respect your parents" stuff (although i'm still not very good at it...) but if my parents took away my cello I don't think I could ever forgive them. It's one of my major scholarship items, and truly the thing I'm the best at (even though I'm bot THAT good at it).
you bastard!!! who is a doctor.
Woahh, I don't think I've ever disagreed with you more, Doc.
i think parents should stimulate the talents a kid has... by taking away the means to make that happen, they're not exactly helping. she also mentioned that the trombone was her ticket into college, don't you think that matters too? i respect my mother, but sometimes we have a different opinion and we argue. that's part of growing up, you get your own opinions about things. she would tell me not to go out, or make me do chores, but she would never ever have tried to make me stop drawing. and now i'm an illustrator. i'm just saying that there is no reason for a kid to just keep accepting everything your parents do or want you to do, especially when it doesn't seem that important or when you feel it is wrong. kids turn into teenagers, who then turn into adults. they won't just nod heads at their parents all the time. i've seen cases where kids kept seeing their parents as the heroes who were always right about everything and just did everything they said... that guy is 27 now, never had a real relationship, still lives at home, has no clue abut what to do with his life. you have to step away at a certain point.
I think that if you are good at the trombone you should stick with it! i am a trombone player too, and i could not give up the instrument if i wanted to! There are different ways to get your hands on a trombone. check with your high school and ask if they can lend you one, if not go to your local college and talk with them about renting one. You can find a way. I don't feel like the person who commented above that you are disrespectful, i feel as though your mom may have a reason for doing what she is doing, but taking away music from someone who lives through it is not cool. now, if she sells it, then find another way to play, someone around will be willing to help you out. oh, and lots of girls play trombone :)
thats ur favorite thing in the world??FYL
i'll take it that hockey is yours? how is a trombone any more lame than hockey when its something you love?

well find something else you're good at. apparently you are good at blowing on things..that's a start
You people are so ignorant. Just because you're good at a musical instrument doesn't mean you have a failed social life. Many of the musicians at my school are actually quite popular. People these days....
