Today, my mother has stooped to a new level of "hiding" Christmas gifts. She now just dumps them in the middle of the floor and says, "Don't look at them." If she even thinks I'm glancing in the direction of the pile, she will burst into a manic rage, and yell at me for "ruining the surprise." FML

Today, I thought my mom and I could put aside our differences and open our Christmas presents. When she opened mine, she turned to my dad and said she didn't want the present, so I could give it to someone else. 'Tis the season. FML

Today, my mom and I went to Best Buy for some Christmas shopping. She picked up some presents for me and told me not to look at what she was buying. When we got to the register, she didn't have enough money, and I ended up having to buy my own presents. FML

Today, my mother was digging up our Halloween decorations, and found the Christmas decorations as well. She's shoddily decorated the house already in half-Halloween and half-Christmas style to save time. I guess we'll be celebrating Christmasween for the rest of the year. FML

I used to go out of my way to hide the gifts & my kids would find them! So, one year, I put them in the back bedroom, threw a sheet over them & figured I'd just let them find the gifts! Christmas came, I wrapped everything & the kids were like "Where'd you hide the gifts? We couldn't find them!" I never told them that they were sitting in the middle of the bedroom floor! They wouldn't go in that room because they were sure it was haunted! Lol!!

In answer to all the questions about all the YDIs, I'm guessing people assume that OP was looking toward the gifts, but it actually says if her mom thinks she's looking. So that implies that OP isn't looking (probably) but her mother thinks she is, thus the manic rage.
