Today, my mother-in-law confessed that for the longest time, she had fantasies about killing me for "ruining" her daughter's life, basically because I'm not wealthy enough for my mother-in-law's standards. She made sure to let me know the situation hasn't changed at all. FML

Today, I found out that in the past, my mother has paid or outright threatened my girlfriends into breaking up with me, because they were, "unsuitable trash not fit to be the mothers of my future grand babies." This explains why I’m 47 and have never married or had children. FML

Today, I visited my in-laws, whom I thought I was on great terms with. I soon learned that wasn't the case when my mother-in-law yelled at me about how I've been abusing her for years. Ten minutes later, she hugged me and asked me for grandkids. FML

A (still happily married) Friend of mine had this happen to him, minus the fantasies about murder, but basically "You ain't makin enough money therefore ain't good enough". He looked her dead in the eye and said "You mean I'm not making enough money for you to move in in a few years and support your fat ass. Too bad, because no matter how much money we have We'll NEVER be your ******* retirement plan. Leech off of one of your other kids stupid enough to put up with your Bullshit." Now 8 years later, He and his wife have great jobs, They can't have kids but that's ok as her stupid AND evil twin sister has pumped out half a dozen (by 5 separate absent and deadbeat dads), and Monster In Law is living in her shitty double wide being her Maid/Cook/Babysitter. Live Well OP, THAT is always the best revenge.
