Today, my mother not only told me that my ex-husband will be spending Thanksgiving with her and my dad, but that I'm also no longer invited to spend the holiday with my family. FML

That sucks, OP. Why won't you take revenge and go on a family holiday with your ex mother-in-law?

31 I see these FMLs ALL the time. My guess is she cheated on him and left him with the kids, or cleared out his bank account, etc.... Something along those lines. Family isn't going to disown you and pick up the ex because you forgot to bring a dish to a party or something.

Is your family just full of assholes OP? That's messed up.

Maybe it was until they decided they didnt want the asshole anymore.

they should appreciate you for who you are..maybe you should speak to them

I think that does suck but I also know that there might be another side to this. my cousin's ex wife is now more family than he is. my cousin was just a bad dishonest guy. I'm not saying anything bad about OP I'm just saying if three people that are supposed to be close with you are okay with you not being invited to Thanksgiving, they probably have a reason. maybe not a completely valid reason though

I agree with this! same happened with my brother.

either OPs Mom and Dad are ****** up or there is more to this story she is leaving out which caused them to choose her ex over their own daughter

Blood is thicker than water. But, evidently, gravy is thicker than blood.

#2, I hardly ever see such FMLs -- maybe you moderate a lot of ones that don't end up published. The OP must have ******-up big time and over a long time. Parents are more likely to be biased toward their own child, so something dramatic must have occurred for them to switch.
