When I gruaduated from elementary my mlm didn't let me go to my dream highschool (which ive wanted to go to for 4 years) because she also didn't want to drive me.

It doesnt sound like she wont let you, more of that she doesnt want to stop her life to accommodate you. honestly you sound kind of selfish. Im sure that she wouldnt mind your intern if she didnt have to drive you around like a kid. youre an adult, if you want to do it, find another way.

If you want it bad enough, you WILL find a way.

Well then you need to learn how to drive now.

Take a bus. And if that is it an option get your own car. And if that still is not an option move out of home and closer to your paid work. There are choices you can make. It all depends on how far you are willing to go to get what you want.

I'm not sure how expensive cab rides are in the States, but they're pretty pricey in Canada :S If OP has considered public transit, and it's far enough that OP can't get there by that, then I would say mother has a pretty good reason for saying no..... Maybe she has work? I wouldn't want to drive an extra two hours every day for 4 months either.... If transportation can't be worked out, perhaps consider renting nearby the college? Might be more affordable in the long run?

Fight for it! Don't let anything stand in the way! Find a ride and explain your situation and possibly pay them once you get paid for said internship. You can do this. With or without the support of the one who is suppose to support you the most.

Guys maybe she has broken her arm or hand and is incapable of driving or riding a bike. Don't make haste assumptions thy she should just "get a license" take other approaches not just one because hey you don't know everything about the story
