Today, my mum got engaged to her American pen-pal, who is in prison over there for murder. FML

Stheno tells us more.

Sorry it took so long to write back I didn't know my FML got posted :) Now to explain a little. It turns out his trail wasn't fair and the reason he was found guilty was because his cell mate made a deal to get out of being sentenced if he lied about my step father admitting to murdering someone. His da also turned out to be an alcoholic. There is no evidence connecting my step father of the murder and now we're working on getting him released :)

He must be a killer romantic. No? I'll show myself out.

Disgusting how some women go for murderers. Or rapists. These women are twisted inside.

"Pen"itentiary pal? The good news is you aren't going to have to rent a tux for the wedding. If there is a wedding, you will all be issued orange jumpsuits.

I watched a documentary about this woman who married her pen-pal, a murderer in prison for life. She married using a proxy while her new "husband" sat in his cell and listened to the ceremony over the radio.

#31, so, did the proxy get to consummate the marriage? (Lucky guy/poor bastard, depending on what the bride looked like.)

says the person who is in love with a crazed villain. Your lover has been put in the Aileen alyssum a few times.

Harley speaks from experience, heed her warning!

Arkham Asylum. BTW. Quinn, big fan. Give Joker a kiss for me?

I know which asylum, and I was just going to say asylum but my phone felt like adding an extra word... it does that now and then. I didn't notice until my time to edit was out.

I hope she comes to her senses soon

Is he getting out soon? Or at all? That changes everything.

No, it doesn't. If he murdered someone and was let off the hook, it doesn't change the fact that he MURDERED someone.

Yes, but if he never gets out, op will never have to see him. If he does, op will either have very awkward family dinners or have to cut off contact with their mother.

I know the legal system isn't exactly perfect but you just don't get "let off the hook." Especially for something of that nature.

Slunds like a killer relationship to me. Good luck, OP!

You know the saying "some people aught to be shot"? This guy just took it to heart. He might actually be a fairly decent guy, if he's dealt with his, you know, killing people issues.

How can you possibly say this? He murdered someone, took an innocent human beings life! Please reconsider everything you've just said and put yourself in the shoes of the victims family

@103, how do you know the person he killed was innocent; might've done something to aggravate the murderer?

how do you know know they were innocent? what if it.was a.sexual predictor? what if it was someone who tried to rape.there daughter? you know nothing about who he killed so shut the **** up

I agree... People are way to anti-killing now Adays... No I'm not saying people should just go down the streets shooting people.... But if there's a reason you're condemned for life

@103 you don't, but that doesn't mean that someone deserves to die

To be honest, someone tries to rape, murder, mug me and I have a weapon... I am stabbing first and asking questions later. I think there are excusable reasons for killing someone--self defense, attempted rape/murder, killing the man who raped your daughter. It would be something understandable. It does not mean I want people taking justice in their own hands, but there are killings that I have heard about that I would likely do the same thing in their position.

I'd get the name and SID number and look up the transcript/exact charges from his trial...

But he's SUCH a nice guy right?

Of all them men in the world and she goes for the covicted murderer? Maybe she likes them bad boys.

He might be like Dexter Morgan.

I have the biggest crush on Dexter Morgan! Sad considering he isn't real. But Michael C. Hall is :]

This is the plot of a comedy skit from the Catherine Tate Show

That may be true, but it happens quite often sadly. Murderers are usually extremely persuasive and manipulative. Hence why people are still followers of Charles Manson... Scary stuff.
