Oh boowhoo cry baby. Work for your own money and your education. You are lucky they aren't charging you rent. My parents couldn't afford gas in their old car, let alone a stupid hobbit house. You are lucky to even have parents to complain about.
Maybe turn it into a tourist attraction and then get the money back and then some...
it all depends on how old OP is... when i was young, my dad set up a bank account for me and my younger brother. he set it up so that we couldnt have access to it til we turned 21. when i was 18, my dad raided both mine and my brother's bank accounts for $500 each to buy a new fridge since it had gone out. i dont have a problem he used it to buy the fridge, but he took the money out of our accounts without even asking first... that was mine and my brother's money from birthdays, holidays, graduation, jobs, etc. and my dad feels that he has the right to just "borrow" it as he calls it... that was 3 years ago and neither of us have seen a single cent of it back.
Haha
I understand what your point is, and I agree with you. But the problem here is that OP's parents didn't use the money for a good thing, like food, bills, or getting somebody better. No, they decided to use it for a useless hobbit house. I think it would have been more worth it if the money really went to OP's college.
Well OP, looks like you have to wait until you're 26 to get financial aid. Until then you can try to work and lose all of your friends that are going away to college. Just a word of advice: if you don't have a college degree by your 10 year reunion, just don't attend. It isn't worth the crap you'll get.
OMG stop with all the woe is me stories...
enjoy the awesome house and work hard to go to college
Look on the bright side OP, if you do end up flipping burgers and speak Spanish, you could always manage your local McDonald's.

Time to grab a bat and pay that Hobbit house a visit.
Your parents are awesome for building that. Sucks they had to use your college funds though!
