Today, my parents were ecstatic about sending me to an amazingly fun camp. I didn't know until I got there that it was a fat camp. FML

take the hint. Lose the weight. Ignore the "feel good about your body no matter what other say" bs and start sweating off those pounds. People run away from you at the beach for a reason.

my high school band camp is hard... 6hours or more inthe sun and like 3-4 practices a day. each being about 3 hours long and the camp is by the beach so the sun is stronger and the temperature is hotter. I lost a ton of weight just by being in marching band. but my college band doesn't work me at all. it sucks...

LMFAO @7 I'm sure it won't be so bad... at least you'll get skinny 

at least u can hav fat sex I heard it waz gewd.. erm I heard

Huge act of betrayal by any parent. As the parent of 3 young adults, I always used logic and reason never dishonesty. My parents did something similar (not a fat camp) but were similarly dishonest when I was around 10. I refused to participate on any level in any activity. Needless to say my stay was short-lasting only a few days. They never made that mistake again and when I disagreed with what they had planned they worked hard to earn my confidence and trust. It payed back in spades when it matter most later as a teen. Fat or not, honesty and integrity in a parent/child relationship is the most important thing. Too many parents learn this too late.

Cause if they told you the truth, chances are you would have thrown a fit and wouldn't wanna go. Exercise can be fun depending on what the activity is.

My 8yr old nephew is chunky. But its his mom's and dad's fault. His parents are the ones feeding their kid fast food 4-5 days a week and let him sit at home and play video games all day. If he was living with me, he'd eat healthier and I'd restrict tv and game time, and also make him play outside.
