Today, my rescue squad unit responded to a 911 call from a woman who felt she was going to pass out. We knocked on her locked door a couple times with no answer. Fearing she might be unconscious, I kicked in the door. She was about to open it and only passed out from the concussion I gave her. FML

Well, all you can do is the best you can! It should have occurred to her that if she called 911, she'd worry people by not answering right away...

You did the right thing-knocking some sense into her. j/k...you're just doing your job, don't feel bad. If she had the keen sense to pick up the phone, she should have had it to hollar or leave the door open for you guys. OH well.

Woman's own fault. If she hadn't passed out until the meds arrived, she should have gotten close to the door and stayed put, either to hear them when they knocked or not be in the way when they busted in.

Even though you identified yourself, make sure you give warning before knocking down the door!

i feel for ya buddy, im an emergency services worker too, i know we get ourselves into all types of crap like that

I love this. Also, "Another mystery solved, boys! Good work!"

Well at least you tried, I support you, you did what you thought was right and were doing it with good intentions!

Aren't you supposed to give a warning before knocking down a door...?

"Today I was feeling incredibly ill and feared I would pass out. Being a little old woman who lives by herself i decided to call 911. I heard a knock on the door and went to go open it. As i was unlocking the door the fireman decided i wasn't moving fast enough and kicked down the door in my face. Now I'm in hospital with a concussion. FML"

You did absolutely the right thing, you couldn't have known and I bet you followed protocol.
