Today, my roommate bitched me out over my "OCD" driving the water bill up. She takes hour-long showers, but apparently me flushing after peeing "wasteful" and a sign of a neurological disorder. FML

I'm sure you could find the water consumption for a toilet flushing and for an hour long shower. She'd probably be too dumb to read it but hopefully it would show her what an idiot she is being.

Most toilets are one gallon per flush on average. Showers, however, use 2.5-5 gallons a MINUTE. Multiply that by 60, and you can safely say "**** OP's roommate!"

You could flush 150 - 300 times for the amount of water she uses in her shower. Who is really driving up the water bill?

You need to time her next time she's in the shower and show her how long she's been in the shower as well as how much water she's "wasted." (In my opinion if you're using it you're not really wasting it.) Be sure to have the calculations ready so you can do them while she's towelling off.
