Today, my sister and I heard back from a job we both applied to. I had used the knowledge from my MBA degree to write a six-page essay for the application, while she just copied and pasted hers from a random website. Guess who got the job. FML

You're better off not working in a place like that if they don't appreciate real effort and hard work anyway. Hope you find a job, OP.

Congratulations OP. Oh, you didn't? ... Well this is awkward.

They may not have wanted to provide the pay commiserate with your education. Additionally, employers won't read an application that long. Unless you have an extensive number of impressive achievements (related to the work you're applying for), your resume should be condensed to one page, and even then, two pages max. Cover letters should also stop at one page. Employers don't have time to read an essay. I'm guessing you haven't been in the workforce long, so this is a learning experience. But now you know!

I'm sure you'll find a better job. If they can't tell real from fake maybe it's best if you don't work there

A six page essay???? No wonder you didn't get the job.... Aint nobody git time fo dat!!!! Lol

Guess who'll always copy/paste from internet now

That means she pleagerized. Tell the company that and she'll also get a nice little fine with her pink slip

Wow. If I was an employer, I don't think that I would have the time or patience to read an essay of that length. Kudos for putting the work in but next time, try to sum the essay up into a small paragraph or what not. Good luck OP.
