Today, my son told me he lost the envelope with all the money he earned selling Cub Scout popcorn. The popcorn was delivered already, and the money needs to be turned in to the pack leader tonight. I just spent $220 on popcorn my neighbors are eating. FML

21: cub scouts ends in 5th grade. that's ages 10-11.

that sucks, but you're not the only one that has happened to. and to everyone else, cubscouts is about teaching your son responsibility, so making them responsible for tracking their sales and holding the money is not out of the norm

Wouldn't you have already handed in the money to your leader before you get the popcorn to handout?

Exactly! My school had these deals, and we had to mail in the cash then they'd send what people ordered then we'd deliver it. Unless it's like Girl Scout cookies where they give you a bunch of boxes to go door to door with. I don't know if you pay the scout leader before or after though, because if it's before you have to keep the unsold boxes.
