My idiot guidance consuler did the same crap for me when we had to write a scary poem for the Halloween Poetry Slam. She called my mom and everything.

Oh man, I can so relate! I remember one time I let my mom and my aunt read one of my stories and they pretty much straight up staged an intervention about how "worried" they were. It wasn't even a scary/violent story either, IIRC. People just don't seem to realize that the stories we write are fictional. Never assume the characters in the story are stand-ins for the writer. That was the very first thing I learned in my creative writing class.
