Today, my therapist told me, "I'm sorry, but I'm not qualified to handle your level of instability." FML

Pfft.. Don't waste your time going to that moron then. Look for a new therapist op, there's better out there?... There are others who could handle your instability. I think..

Damn! That's Sad! Tell him to go back to college and learn!

Maybe s/he didn't WANT to specialise in whatever illness or issues the OP is presenting with rather than having chosen to not learn it because they were lazy. How naive of you to assume that all therapists treat the exact same shit - marriage therapists are not going to be able to go the job of clinical therapists and clinical therapists can't do the job of addiction therapists and addiction therapists and (probably not) going to be any good with children that require therapy. To assume the therapist is in the wrong for stating that their qualifications are not in the field that the OP needs (and I strongly believe the wording has been ad-libbed or has been taken out of context) is incredibly dense.

At least he's being honest. Most of these pseudo-therapists with the education of a rock would stretch it out over 6 months then refer you to one of his partners.

There are different therapist that handle different fields. I'm sure he could referral you to someone else to handle your needs. Just be happy you didn't waste one extra session with someone that couldn't help you. ***Keep in mind, most therapist are screwed up themselves. O.o

What did you tell them? How you have a voice in your head that tells you to kill the entire staff of Walmart because they don't move fast enough.
