Blonde is recessive, but red hair is double recessive (meaning only one parent has to have blonde hair gene for a kid to come out blonde but not every one will be blonde, but for red hair each parent must have a red recessive- if the parents have different color hair there is possibility child will come out redheaded no guarantee but of both parents are redheaded the child will be redheaded for sure because both parents have only red recessive genes since they are redheads too)

My parents and my younger sister all have dark hair, dark eyes, and dark-ish complexions... I have red hair, green eyes, and pale, freckled, and easily burned skin... I wasn't switched at birth and my father is actually my father... Don't worry so much.

To the person who said raid hair is a recessive genome, Thats extremely wrong, in terms of hair color, brown is the dominant and blonde is recesive, however red hair isnt a result of genomes, it is actually i genetic mutation that occurs in the chromosome. So it is entirely possible for someone with blue eyes and blond hair to have a red haired child.

..... i don't think its a big deal. you're kids can have any color of hair and can randomly pop up from way back in generatiions so i wouldnt really worry about it

its alright, your kid probably won the genetic lottery and got the double-recessive trait from both of you. Don't freak out.....yet.

How dare you make this FML. Most likely, your baby will outgrow the red hair and even if he doesn't you are still blessed! At least he doesn't have a disability! As a father you should love your child no matter what!
