Today, my wife tried to refill the windshield wiper fluid on her own. However, she poured it where the oil goes. Now the car is having major issues. Last week I lost my job, and I have no idea how much this is going to cost to fix. FML

Today, my car broke down. My dad insisted he could fix it, but screwed up in the process. After finally getting the car towed to a mechanic, I was told that I'd only needed a new water pump, but thanks to the damage my dad did, fixing it all will cost me a small fortune. FML

Today, I was driving my car like any ordinary day. My dad had been harping on me about not checking the oil, so I finally checked it. Driving down the road my hood flew up and shattered my windshield. I forgot to latch my hood after checking the oil. $300 for a new windshield. The oil was fine. FML

Today, I told my wife to not drive our car as it has a steering problem and is starting to shake. I got home from work to see it had a flat tire, and asked her if she went anywhere. She'd thought I was exaggerating and went out for coffee. I've been a mechanic for 7 years. FML

Today, after paying back the money my grandma lent me to fix my car, I stepped outside, only to see my car leaking antifreeze all over the driveway. I had to ask for the money back to fix it again. FML

Today, my wife put petrol in my diesel car and ruined the engine, I got a bit upset, but I wasn’t screaming or yelling or anything, but she flew completely off the handle at me at how I was putting all the blame on her and it wasn’t fair. I ended up apologising to her for her mistake. FML

Perhaps she did this while he was still employed, just trying to be helpful, and from op's comment it seems they been driving this car like that for a bit now to be having major issues and if so, f both their lifes because that engine will have to be rebuilt or put on a new one at $600 to $1600 depending on the vehicle.

Drain the oil put in new and if you still have a problem drain it again and refill it . Just ask your mechanic what oil they use.

How you mistake the big tough cap that's hot when the car just ran and hard to turn when it's not for the small cap with a water-spurt looking image is completely beyond me. It reminds me when a girlfriend of mine wanted to drive my stick, and asked why there were three pedals... I guess cars aren't for everyone.
