Today, my younger sister's dog broke its leg. The vets are closed today so instead of going on a date with a girl I have been trying to get for at least 2 years, I need to carry an 80 lb. dog that hates me, up and down the stairs. I already got bit twice. FML

explain it to the girl. w/o complaining. you will win points. btw, a broken leg is an emergency. vet hospitals have emergency numbers.

I'm all for caring for your pets, but I wouldn't tolerate a biting dog. If it bites, it stays outside. Your sister can deal with it then.

You think just maybe the dog is biting because it's in excruciating PAIN every time he moves it? Wouldn't you bite at someone who induces agony every time they touch you? It is by far an understatement to say that it hurts to be jostled around with an unstabilized fracture...

All vets either see patients after hours for emergencies, or work in collaboration with another vet/animal hospital to see emergency cases after hours. Heck my vets office was closed friday-sunday, but he still came to the office on a friday night, when we called because the one cat had been caught in a trap (which an idiot neighbor put in our yard to protect his buffalo from being attacked) You guys are setting yourself up for animal abuse conviction by not taking the dog to be treated.

Neither is your life effed, nor do you deserve it. You're doing a good thing, and you'll get another chance at the date, and probably look better in the girl's eyes because of it. You should feel proud, not persecuted by fate.

Refusing to take an animal, clearly in need of medical care, to a veterinarian hardly qualifies as a good thing. All they'd have to do is listen to the message on the answering machine and know exactly how they could get their dog care immediately

That poor ******* dog. The poor animal had a broken leg, and was in pain. You guys really couldn't take him to the EMERGENCY room?? Vets have emergency numbers on the answering machine. No wonder he bit you, he's scared and he's in pain, and everytime you take him UP and down the stairs it probably hurts him. You guys really had to move him? God this is just bad pet ownership and I really ******* hate that there are people like you out there. Thanks a lot for taking good care of your pet, jerk.

That is technically cruelty to the dog. The most likely reason the dog is biting you, is because it is in horrible pain, and is being moved and carried. You know, I hope you fall and break your leg, and that you're forced to wait to go to the ER. How would you like it?
