Today, my youngest of four children turned 18. It was also the same day that my ex-wife called to tell me that after 18 years of paying child support, I wasn't the father. FML

Did you love this child as your own? Do you have a relationship with this child? Parenting is about more than the money, you got all the benefits of being a parent too. Focus on that.

If you think of the child as your own and have treated it as your own then the DNA is just a small thing. The child is yours. The fact she tells you it is not yours does not even necessarily mean it is not genetically yours as she may just be messing with your head.

While I do understand that there are many legal technicalities, surely a man who acted in good faith and in return got bamboozled by someone knowingly and deliberately should have some legal recourse?

time to file a lawsuit leaving the child out of it

Find a way to prove it and make her give some money to the kid. They are going to have a lot harder time because not only are you their dad.. but their mother lied to them for 18 years.
