Today, on my way to school, I was shouted at by an obnoxious businessman for sitting down on the train when a "full fare paying passenger" was standing. I would normally have given him the seat straight away, except I have a broken leg. I showed him my leg and crutches. He still made me get up. FML

Should have stayed sat down, some people are just plain horrible. Hope your leg heals soon :)

I wouldn't of stood for that. Lol, would've swung a crutch at him. Lol

I'd have told him to bugger off if I was sat there with a broken leg. Unless he'd paid to reserve the seat, train seats are first come first served.

Don't get up even if you don't have a broken leg! If it's a pregnant woman, or an elderly person, then yes, standing for them is the right thing to do. But this guy is an able-bodied man, he has no more right to sit than you do, no matter how much more he pays than you. Do NOT listen to arseholes like that, people like him just have a massive superiority complex because they make so much money, so can't stand the idea of someone less wealthy than them getting their own way.

Ah that sucks. Hmm, all this talk of sueing him if he touches you - I'm not sure that's a valid comment really. Being Australian as well I can say that Australia doesn't have a paranoid culture of trigger-happy suing and court cases like America seems to. Saying "if he touches you, sue his ass" just sounds weird and pointless to Australians.

People throw the word "sue" around way more than people actually sue as a way to intimidate people

How did he 'make' you get up, drag you out of there? There's a time to be respectful of your elders and a time for them to be respectful of the less able-bodied. Stand up ( no pun intended) for YOUR rights OP.
