Today, one of my three-year-old twin daughters asked, "Dad, can we get a cat?" I replied in a gentle dad voice, "No, honey, dad is allergic to cats. That means they make him sneeze and sniffle. So we can't get a cat. Sorry." After a slight pause, the other asked, "When you die can we get a cat?" FML

#12, how is he a horrible father? I remember moderating this. She's young and doesn't know any better though (:

Allergy shots and medication don't always get it. They can wait 15 years to get out on their own and be the neighborhood crazy cat ladies. It won't kill them.

Today I was having sex for the first time but couldn't get it up. She then proceeded to take a dump on my face when I was asleep. FML

Do you seriously think that this is the place to post FMLs? Are you honestly that stupid?

First and foremost, #35...just, no. Wrong text box. Secondly, #22...perhaps the OP can't afford DAILY allergy medication for the rest of his life? Or maybe he just doesn't want to take pills every day in order to be able to breathe in his own house? That being said, I think everyone is over-analyzing this situation (*cough cough* #11), saying things like "They're just kids!" and "Wow, don't take it seriously...get over it." Everyone just needs to chill out and accept the story for what it is. I'm sure the OP is not truly sadened by his daughters' comment, but just saw it as a funny and ironic story that other people would appreciate hearing- I know I did!

No FML here. I've heard similar things from kids. They don't want you to die, they just have cats on the brain at the moment. I'm more surprised that 3 years olds have such a good understanding of death.

I said something similar to my dad when i was 3-4. It's natural. that's cute!! Just laugh at it and don't take it seriously. My dad still brings it up as a joke and we all laugh. That's gonna be one of those funny memories that u'll share with them when they will grow up
