Today, one of my year 9 students finished the test an hour early. He decided to spend the time by "stealthily" whacking off. His entire desk was shaking in a silent room. FML

salmone_fml tells us more.

Follow Up: it is a national test, so he couldn't go to the bathroom, and I couldn't disrupt the test by speaking. I stood nearby and cleared my throat loudly, that seemed to work, and he emerged from his jumper (sweater) fairly quickly. I would say given that all he wrote on the test was his name, he probably did not do very well. Finally, there are some very nasty, judgemental people on here. Perhaps you should try to live a little more kindly and gently.

I don't get how it seemed like a good idea to him.

9 year old whacking it? What is this world coming to?

Yeah "year 9" basically means a ninth grade student. But it's not uncommon for much younger children ********** too.

Also, even if it was a 9 year old you must not have children. Kids start touching themselves pretty much as soon as they discover their genitals because it feels nice.

Unless OP is in the UK. Year 9 here is 13-14 years old.

"Year 9" is actually a 10th grade student

I hope you did jot entertain that any further in the class..

A kid at my old high school did that. Caught by the teacher and was suspended. What part in their brain did they think that was a good idea. Hope that kid got charged with public exposure as well.

It's his favorite pastime. who can blame him? get it on you 9 year old!!

It was a year 9 student not a 9 year old...

Did he not consider where he was gonna leave his ****?

What kind of a teacher are YOU??? You allowed this to happen... You'd be both kicked out of my school

Where does it say OP allowed this to happen/continue?

God I wish this was Facebook so I could like this hahaha

This happened at my school when I was in year 8, Thankfully not in my class but in a friends one. And the school didn't even do anything about it. I really hope your school followed up against it made him known that it is definitely not appropriate.

and you did nothing. Tyoical of bad schooling practices.

Where does it say that OP did nothing?

NAPLAN test, im guessing? whenever i did one, teachers were allowed to speak quietly to an individual if needed. & that kid had his priorities in the wrong order if all he did was write his name. D:

When I did my naplan we could go to the bathroom

I think you're suppose to be allowed to use the bathroom but have to ask as well as be in there for a short time. Also, only one student at time. I'm pretty sure you can't take bathroom privileges away. And as far as there being very nasty and judgement people on here, what that student did is VERY inappropriate and pretty gross...

You posted this to a site of judgement. What were you expecting us to say about unacceptable behaviour?

As someone not too much older than the student, I can assure you that he knows damn well at that age that jerking off in class is a disgusting thing to do. Treating him like a misunderstood, helpless little kid who just made the wrong choice isn't going to stop that behaviour. If any other students had seen anything, it could even be considered sexual assault. Kids and especially teens are aware of their actions and deserve to face the consequences. Kindness has no place when it comes to the safety security of other students. If I was in class, doing an important test and another student started masturbating and the teacher didn't put a prompt end to it, I'd be kicking up a fuss myself. Sexual behaviour has no place in school and he damn well knows that.

I think that perhaps OP is calling the people that said he was a bad teacher/should leave the school judgemental, as they have been exactly that assuming that OP allowed the behaviour to continue and judging that this one incident is 'typical of bad schooling practices'

Last year there was an incredibly disgusting kid in my business class. He wouldn't just **********, but would also eat his snot. He apparently did it frequently in various classes as well because 1/3 into the year he became known for that because a lot noticed and spread it around.

Is salmone your name?! It's close to mine and that's weird.
