Today, our dishwasher door broke. My mom made me sit there for an hour straight, holding the door shut so it would work. FML

For se reason some was cut off. If I left it to get a chair or anything it would pop open and restart the whole cycle (30 min cycles) my mom went in the shower so she couldn't get me anything. Another thing is I was able to sit on the floor to use my phone (thank God). Finally, due to being anaphylactic to milk and eggs, I could not have wash the dishes (my family still eats them) Thanks for commenting and have a nice day everyone!

Why not put something heavy against it?

I suppose that hour long wait is better than having to put up with those spoons. Anyone tried to rinse those suckers? water goes everywhere.

Hold them at a downward angle into the sink and away from you. You're washing it, not trying to dissolve heroin.

Sponges can hold lots of bacteria if not properly sanitized. Same with cloths. Non-scratch scour pads are easier to use.

When I was younger, we had no dishwasher and we had to wash the dishes by hand.

Why not use duct tape? Duct tape fixes everything

Anyone else thinking about how OP probably could have washed the dishes by hand in less than an hour...

I am thinking the exact same thing. I never had a dishwasher growing up so I hand washed dishes. We have a dishwasher now, but I find it easier to hand wash them.

Obviously put something against it like the table or chair and if the chair didn't hold sit on it and go to ifunny to waste time.

Because doing the dishes by hand was too hard.
