You would sound stupid but since you put that disclaimer in there you don't :) They can still get struck, but the rubber changes how the electricity is transferred to the ground somehow... I can't remember how though. :/

oh, that makes sense, idk i never studied that in school and i just remember one time while on a retreat there was a horrible storm while we were in the car and it scared me (i was little) and i guess my brother told me that cars couldnt get struck just to comfort me. but thank you for clearing that up :)

the rubber grounds the car, so it doesn't take as much damage.

thats a common misconception cars can absolutely get struck by lighting the rubber on the tires has no effect however people in cars are protected by the metal surrounding them due to the Faraday cage effect wikipedia it its pretty sweet.

My car was struck before. Made all the glass look like broken confetti stuff. Really pretty until I remembered I only had liability insurance...
