Today, the 4-year-old I was babysitting came up to me all happy, saying she went to the bathroom like a "big girl". Knowing she was just potty trained, I asked if she'd remembered to flush. Looking at me confused, she said, "But it's in my room." FML

Maybe potty trained is the wrong word to use...

My first instinct is to wonder how she managed to be alone long enough to shit in her room, but children are little devils and will find ways to make you look bad, regardless of how attentive you are.

She should have been potty trained that's a little old

how does she think "big girls" go to the bathroom?

Babysitters definitely do not get paid enough.

She could have peed in her room

Oops! I hope you taught her where she should be going for that ...

That's too old to not be trained! My son was completely out of diapers by his second birthday. I feel bad for you for having to clean that up, OP!

Hey there, Judgey McJudgerson! Every kid is different. My daughter was trained two weeks before she was two. My son at three and a half. And my nephew, at 9, still has issues. Kids develop at their own pace.

I'll be Judgey McJudgerson, too. Your nephew must have developmental issues, not just toilet problems. Unless he has physical difficulty controlling his bowels, there is no reason he should have problems at nine years old. I mean accidentally wetting the bed every so often is one thing, but c'mon…

If she just turned 4 it's only slightly late.

That's really old to not be potty trained.. Hell my niece was trained before she even turned two.

She was potty trained but its in the wrong room

My first thought was that she had a little potty in her room. Which her parents ( or the OP) would dump into the toilet and clean out when she was done. Or did she actually just go on the floor?
